The Anti-Colonial Committee (ACC) is an autonomous working group of the Law Union of Ontario, working around issues relating to resistance to Canada’s ongoing colonialism towards First Nations and Aboriginal, Métis and Inuit peoples living on Turtle Island.
The ACC aims to:
- Research and analyze Canadian, Indigenous and international legal and political orders relating to colonialism in Canada, and respond to requests by grassroots movements for research and analysis on various topics of interest, e.g. civil injunctions, civil procedure, tort law, etc.;
- Create popular education tools to build a greater understanding of how colonialism persists and can be dismantled as part of a broader project for social and environmental justice;
- Provide active support and solidarity to grassroots activist movements for Indigenous sovereignty and social and environmental justice.
